Pakistan to hold first Fashion Week in November (Pak)

Pakistan will host its first fashion week from November 4th to 8th, according to local media reports.

Designers will get the chance to flaunt their creations in India two months before, with a preview scheduled for September in New Delhi.

Created to help promote the local fashion industry, its creators, and designers for the global fashion market, the high-end fashion event will also be used as an opportunity to further accelerate the efforts to make the Pakistan industry part of the global fashion world.

The so-called Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, running in New Delhi from September 5th to September 9th will showcase Pakistani designers to give international buyers a feel of what the Pakistan Fashion Week will hold.

Karachi-based designer Sonya Battla told the Malaysia Sun that it would give the designers the ideal opportunity to show the subtle but unmistakeable differences between the two nations' fashion senses "which on the surface level may seem similar but in fact have a distinct flavour of their own".

Colin McDowell, one of the world's most renowned fashion commentators, has also been announced as one of the special advisors being taken on to ensure that the Pakistan Fashion Week is a roaring success.
