Fashion Frisk: Katie Holmes at the New York Premiere of 'Hairspray'

On July 16th, at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York, Hollywood’s biggest stars rocked the film premiere of “Hairspray”, based on the hit Broadway musical. While everyone looked awesome on the carpet, most awesome of all was Katie Holmes.

The film’s storyline is about a larger-than-average girl who has aspirations of becoming a dancer and her mother. The girl, played by actress Nikki Blonsky is supported by overly shielding mom Edna, who is none other than John Travolta.

Also at the premiere were much of young Hollywood, James Marsden, Amanda Bynes, Brittany Snow, and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, as well as A-listers Kelly Preston, Michelle Pfieffer, Paula Abdul, Liza Minnelli and Nathan Lane.

Stealing the Show
Looking at Katie’s all-black ensemble what else can one say but wow! Back from Germany, she’s sporting a hot new do that matches daughter Suri’s short hair and looks just as cute. The coordinating short black dress with clutch bag and heels makes us want to drool over her 5”8 figure and forget about the film altogether. While pushing a man’s buttons is not rocket science, it’s not easy either. One obvious button is style. Katie’s marriage and new mom status have brought out poise and polish that we’ve not seen before. The result? Refreshing! The Holmester came to support pal John Travolta, a fellow Scientologist just like husband Tom Cruise. Strength in numbers is what we think.
