Spice Girls in L'Oreal deal, are they "worth it it?"

Are the shiny glossy manes of the Spice Girls about to land them a deal with L'Oreal? Rumours are buzzing that the girl group will soon be purring "because we're worth it" after agreeing to appear in a multi-million pound promotional campaign for the company's range of hair care products. The Spicies are no stranger to commercial ad deals, they recently fronted a string of holiday-themed television ads for Tesco.

"The girls like the idea of following in the footsteps of all the big names who've worked for L'Oreal. So it looks like the talks are going to go smoothly," a source revealed to People.co.uk.

Together with the dosh that they're currently making from their global comeback tour, the real question here is - how much money do the Spice Girls really need?

'Posh asked me to give her hips in outfits': Roberto Cavalli

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has revealed that Victoria Beckham asked him to "give her hips" in the outfits he designed for the Spice Girls' comeback tour.

The Fashion supremo, who designed outfits for the band's reunion tour said that the 33-year-old singer "was the most daring".

"She wanted to experiment, to surprise and be different. Her only request was that we give her hips," Cavalli told Grazia magazine.

He said that he had met each one of the Spice Girls personally to know their personality.

"I met each one on their own so I could get an idea of their personality," he said.

"I asked them about their bodies, what they wanted to show and hide, and we talked about how they had evolved in the years since they were Spice Girls," he added.

He also made them view his archives and asked what they wanted to wear.

Geri Halliwell wanted to show off her toned body while new mother Emma Bunton wanted all covered up, he revealed.

"We updated Geri's iconic Union Jack dress into a corseted Swarovski crystal-studded mini dress," he said.

Melanie C wanted to be more rock chick than sporty, he added.

Cavalli further revealed that Mel B was very assertive with the outfits.

"Melanie B, she was very strong, very assertive. Oh my, she was very hard work," he said
"I had to change her outfits twice. She wanted shiny, body-conscious clothes, and animal prints...."he added.

Posh pens fashion bible

Victoria Beckham, wife of soccer star David Beckham will release a style guide in November, titled 'That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between'.

"I've always been a girl's girl," the Spice Girl said in a statement.

"And I know from experience that making the very best of your self is something any woman can do.

"I was never the 6-foot-tall pin-up. I've always been the girl-next-door who got lucky. I've come a long way in the last ten years, but this book isn't my attempt to tell you what or what not to do. It's just to share some of what I've learned."

According to publisher HarperCollins, the book will offer guidance on everything from leaving home looking great to getting dressed up for special occasions.

Beckham's ability to sell books, at least other people's books, has already been demonstrated.

Last year, she was photographed holding a copy of 'Skinny Bitch, a diet guide' by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin.

That book quickly became a best seller.

Intimately Beckham Night to be available in the US September 2007

September 2007. [Just Jared] However, lotsa Posh and Becks fans have noticed something odd about Posh's hair - its dark, and I guess Photoshop isn't the answer.

Apparantly its an older picture from the Posh and Becks monstrous archive of photos of themselves.

[Victoriadavidbeckham] That theory doens't make sense to me since I thought her hair was long back then... Ah well.

Personally, anyway, I was more taken with the W magazine pictures than this fragrance ad - it doens't look intimate at all.
She might be too angular to carry of the sultry night thing.

Red Carpet Watch: "The Bourne Ultimatum" premiere, LA

Forget Matt Damon, last night's premiere of the Bourne Ultimatum was all about the ladies. Julia Stiles led the charge in a floor-sweeping crocheted number which doesn't really grab me. It's a little too doily for my liking and I'm not loving the overkill of straps up top from her slip. Jennifer Garner, on the other hand, radiated in this black and white mini dress complete with Christian Louboutin peep-toes. For once she actually appeared at an event with hubby Ben Affleck in toe! I'm also a fan of Joan Allen's strapless frock and silver stilettos - taking a leaf out of Posh and Cam's book... snaps for that!

Madonna, Guy beat Beckhams in fashion poll

Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie have been voted the best-dressed celebrity couple.

The pair beat David and Victoria Beckham and 'Sex AndThe City' star Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick in the poll.

Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, whose relationship is rumoured to be going through a troubled patch, came second for their 'smouldering' red-carpet look.

New Los Angeles residents Posh and Becks were third in the survey of 7,000 fashion fans for In Style magazine.

Singer Gwen Stefani and her rock star husband Gavin Rossdale were fourth, followed by actress Demi Moore and her younger husband Ashton Kutcher, for their 'complimentary' wardrobe.

Actress Kate Winslet and director Sam Mendes are sixth, while Sarah Jessica Parker, famous as Carrie in 'Sex and the City,' and her actor husband Matthew Broderick are seventh.

'Batman Returns' star Kate Bosworth and British model James Rousseau make it into eighth place.

Katie Holmes - who has received fashion advice from Posh Spice - and Tom Cruise also made it into the list, in ninth position.

Despite Kelly Brook's disastrous appearance on the red carpet for the premiere of the film Snatch, when she wore a pink crystal-encrusted dress with matching knickers, the British TV presenter and actress is 10th, with fiancee Billy Zane.

Posh lineup on annual best-dressed list

Nicolas Sarkozy, the newly elected president of France, is now rubbing well-tailored shoulders with Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney, at least among this year's Vanity Fair best-dressed list.

The magazine's 68th annual list also saw retired star Japanese midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata, American rocker Lenny Kravitz and filmmaker Sofia Coppola honoured for their sartorial elegance.

Among the couples on the 2007 International Best-Dressed List were Hollywood leading couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who featured along with former England captain David Beckham and his pop star wife Victoria, aka Posh Spice.

While Beckham has appeared on the list before, it was the first time the pair had appeared as a couple.

"Beckham, like his wife, has a body made for clothes and, of course, looks wonderful even dressed in nothing but his tattoos. Posh and Becks are each other's best accessories," the magazine's Amy Fine-Collins said.

Other notables include actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, Michelle Obama, the wife of Democratic Party presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and Bee Shaffer, daughter of Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

Another second generation celebrity - Ivanka Trump, daughter of real estate mogul Donald Trump - made the list along with US actress Renee Zellweger and British actor-director Richard E Grant.

The list appears in the magazine's September issue.

Beckhams named in magazine's best-dressed list

British soccer idol David Beckham and his wife Victoria have joined French President Nicolas Sarkozy on a list of world's best-dressed people compiled by Vanity Fair magazine.

The fashionable British duo, who have just moved to Los Angeles, were listed by the magazine as one of the world's 10 best-dressed couples alongside Hollywood star couples Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.

The newly-elected French president made the 68th annual list for the first time, along with Michelle Obama, the wife of U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former soccer star Hidetoshi Nakata.

"It's not just about how much someone spends, it is about having real elegance, style, and individuality," Vanity Fair special correspondent Amy Fine Collins said in an interview.

The September issue of the magazine, which hits national newsstands on August 7, gave nods to musical, literary and philanthropic icons alike, whether known for their brains or their beauty.

The magazine said it searched beyond the silver screen and fashion runways to select 61 stars of style for the list.

Rocker Lenny Kravitz and former Giants running back and television commentator Tiki Barber both made the list for the second time after being selected in 2001 and 1998 respectively.

It was the second consecutive appearance for the perpetually black suit clad author Fran Lebowitz and actress Renee Zellweger.
Some well-known offspring were also been named to the list - Ivanka Trump, real-estate developer and daughter of Donald Trump, and Bee Shaffer, Columbia University student and daughter of Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

The annual issue, started in 1940, tallies the votes of more than 1,000 tastemakers, from retailers to editors, fashion designers, restaurant owners and hairdressers.

"It's a democratic system like electing a president," Collins said.

"There is a committee like the electoral college that reviews the results, and chooses the top contenders."

Adding to its egalitarian style, the list doesn't rank its winners from greatest to least.

The fashion industry was represented by Ethiopian-born model Liya Kebede and American fashion designer Tory Burch.

Vanity Fair also elected a few names to its Best Dressed Hall of Fame for people showing consistently classic taste.

Among this rarefied group were silver-haired newscaster Anderson Cooper and US movie star George Clooney, famous for his clean white shirts and salt-and-pepper tresses, and filmmaker Sofia Coppola.

Victoria Bekcham To Open Her Own LA Store

Victoria Beckham is planning her latest move in her American offensive – opening up her own fashion store.

The Spice Girl is planning to open up a boutique on Los Angeles’ trendy Melrose Avenue to sell her own dVb designer wear.

A source tells the People, “Victoria wants to ensure she is as much of a fashion icon in the States as in the UK and this seems the ideal way to do it.

"Melrose Avenue is the place to have a store if you are a designer, so if Victoria pulls it off it will do wonders to boost her status.
"There are plans for a massive
ad campaign to coincide with it. Nothing will be done by halves.

"Victoria is also in talks to model the designs herself but may decide it would just be better to stick to the business side of things."

Well, it shouldn’t be hard for Posh to become as much of a fashion icon in America as she is in the UK – ie; none whatsover.
