Oscars 2008: Renee Zellweger, Jessica Alba, Cameron Diaz, Keri Russell, Amy Adams

The Oscars in 2008 were quite a glittering affair, with simple dresses no where to be seen on the red carpet... here's our round up of trends and fabulous dresses on the red carpet...

Strapless and fabulous. I'm a big fan of strapless gowns (probably because I read somewhere that the last place you gain weight it around your shoulders and décolletage), so of course I love these dresses on the Oscar's red carpet. Renee Zellweger wore a silver Carolina Herrera gown, embellished with sparkles it really shone on the red carpet, requiring minimal jewellery.

Mum-to-be- Jessica Alba, who's reportedly in her third trimester wore a gorgeous plum coloured Marchesa dress, which matched her skin tone and hid her burgeoning belly beautifully.

Cameron Diaz made her first red carpet appearance in a while in in a pale pink Christian Dior dress - the folded fabric detail looked like intricate Japanese origami and it just shows off her slim figure so well! Keri Russell kept her dress simple in a chic little number by Nina Ricci, and another ShinyStyle favourite - Amy Adams in a emerald green Proenza Schouler gown. The green looked great against her red hair.

Pamela Anderson shows off her assets as Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four spoof

Pamela Anderson revealed more than just her acting talents on the set of her new movie.

The former Baywatch star donned a skin-tight blue suit for her role as the Invisible Woman in the spoof of the box office hit Fantastic Four starring Jessica Alba.

Pamela, 40, takes on Jessica's character but by the looks of things, it appears Pamela's assets may be hard to hide - even with special superhero powers.

The actress is no stranger to flaunting her figure as she recently took to the stage in Paris to perform a one-off show which saw her riding a a black motorcycle dressed in nothing but a body stocking, charging £150 per ticket.

The show, which took place at the notorious Crazy Horse, also featured Pamela dancing to Brigitte Bardot's hit song "Harley Davidson", according to a People.com report.

Jessica Alba at Australia Week 2008 black tie gala

Jessica Alba disappointed us at the G'Day USA: Australia Week 2008 black tie gala at Waldorf Astoria hotel, New York City, Saturday, January 26. Wearing black is always safe but you can still go wrong Jessica managed to prove with a maternity variation that can be succinctly defined as silly.

Her floor length single shoulder black dress was bereft of form and feminity. It featured a chunky jeweled buckle at the shoulder strap, a bold variation that did nothing more than rob the dress of its residual elegance from its fabric and fall.

Alba wore a yellow gold bracelet on her right hand. Her hair was tied up at the nape in a loose chignon.

When you are as beautiful as Jessica Alba and pregnant to boot you can easily brush aside a sartorial misstep. The 26-year-old actress still managed to look radiant and confident.

The Australia Day Black Tie Gala, attended by 1,000 prominent Australian and American arts, philanthropic, government and business executives, marked the close of G'Day USA program for 2008.

The event commenced with a red carpet arrival, followed by a unique dinner experience incorporating fashion and three time winner of the Australian MTV Video Music Awards Best Male Performer Shannon Noll, alongside award winning Indigenous performer, Christine Anu and the Qantas Choir who flew from Australia to perform at the special event. The focus of the 2008 Gala was to profile the exceptional work undertaken by Australia’s Royal Flying Doctors Service.

The G'DAY USA Program is a short term Cultural Exchange which offers High School students and staff the opportunity to travel, as a group, to the USA during the school holidays.

Elle February 2008: Jessica Alba

Yesterday we looked at Lily Allen's Marie Claire cover, and now here's another cover girl who's a mom-to-be (and thankfully, this one's a non-smoker). Here we have Jessica Alba on the cover of February's Elle.
I am not digging her hair in this photo. Instead of tousled and flowy, it looks choppy in the middle and stringy at the bottom. Jessica is gorgeous and usually has beautiful hair...this just isn't her best shot (although the girl does have an amazing smile and it shows in this photo!).
The last time I showed you a Gilles Bensimon cover for Elle (it was Scarlett Johansson), there was near-outrage over how bad she looked and how ugly the cover was in general.

Get Jessica Alba's Comic-Con denim look

Jessica Alba at the comic convention? Well it is officially called the '2007 Comic-Con International' and she was there with co-star Dane Cook to promote their romantic comedy Good Luck Chuck. Boy, didn’t she get the right combination of sexy-but-sweet with her outfit.
This flattering long denim dress showed off just enough skin around the décolletage, while keeping most of her shapely legs hidden. The gold ballet flats added a touch of glamour to the outfit. Perfect for a comic convention or a dinner date. Try the denim dress look yourself with these sweet denim dresses and gorgeous gold flats.

Jessica Alba in Berlin

Whether it’s a barely-there swimsuit or a bespoke evening gown, Alba’s got the assets to pull it off without batting an eyelash. Which is why we were surprised looking at her outfit for the Berlin premiere of her latest flick, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

It was, if you will forgive us, a little less than fantastic.

Looking at this recent photograph taken on the German red carpet, Jessica doesn’t look herself. Not only that, she doesn’t look her age but a few decades older. A-lister Alba is signing autographs with costar Ioan Gruffuld, but something makes us ask how Berliners knew it was her underneath the layers of makeup?? Or did they just assume she was famous and ask for it anyway? Hmm.

In The Dark
She glammed it up in Gucci for the London premiere, then vexed the fans
in Versace back in Madrid. And now, she’s bombed big time. If memory serves us right, she’s been known for subtle, polished looks on the carpets, for either a designer tribute or a film debut. But this picture shows a transformation we’d rather not see. The hair pulled back, smoky eyes, heavy rouge and wine-colored mouth top off one badly chosen LBD. Now usually LBD’s are for people who play it safe. They aren’t getting many points, but it’s a sure thing. This one however, has a tacky cutout in the top, makes it appear that she hasn’t developed knockers and gives her just the right look for a gangster moll. It pains us to say this, because basically the girl is one hot face.
Why hide it underneath all that plaster? She’s even made People’s 100 Most Beautiful list in no makeup. It’s true Jessica Biel has tried the same tactic of shooting higher by dressing more formally for the premieres. But Biel doesn’t overdo it, neither with her face nor her bod. The best caveat here is less is more. Something we wish she’d remembered before she got dressed that evening.

Jessica Alba in the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Madrid Photocall

Seen in this recent photograph, La Jessica dazzles her Spanish fans in a trendy Versace minidress with sheer leggings by Waldrof and what else but a pair of sky-high Versace patent leather platforms.

From the looks of things, Jessica Alba has been having one fabulous summer, both personally and professionally. After recently spending a Parisian weekend for Eva Longoria’s nuptials, she then zipped to Florence, Italy to do some recreational shopping. Then she showed up in the style capital of Milan for a ballet in honor of the late Gianni Versace. And as if that weren’t just enough for the jetsetting Jessica, she graced the Madrid photocall for Los 4 Fantasticos y Silver Surfer (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) in yet another hot Versace creation.

Pushing the Envelope
While the ballet saw her in a demure full-length gown complete with jewels, Alba went in something more risqué for the photocall. Seen in this recent photograph, La Jessica dazzles her Spanish fans in a trendy Versace minidress with sheer leggings by Waldrof and what else but a pair of sky-high Versace patent leather platforms. We have to give her credit, not every actress can carry off so many trends at once and not appear overdone. But Jess balances it out well. Her softly done hair and makeup echo the colors of the dress. This has to be one of the gutsier moves she’s made, but it’s well played for the superhero and Hollywood’s next big thing. Brava!

Celebrity Watch: Smoking Hot Jessica Alba

Certainly one of the classiest stars in young Hollywood today, the 25-year-old Jessica Alba always takes things in stride. No explanation needed for why she is placed at number two on Maxim's list of the one hundred hottest in 2006.

From Jessica Biel to Jessica Alba, no star in Hollywood is safe from CelebWatch's prying eyes. But you know what they say, privacy is overrated, especially in Hollywood. If no one cares who you are or what you're doing, then it's time to call your agent. Like Jessica Biel, Alba is also a hot commodity in Tinseltown. Both were child stars, the first for "Seventh Heaven", and the second for children's series "Flipper". Both stunners have been models for Loreal cosmetics company. And the similarity doesn't end there! Both women are committed dog owners who just can't seem to do without animal companionship while on location.
Seen in this photo taken April 16th, 2007, Jess takes her dog for a walk while shooting a cosmetics advertisement in West Hollywood. Normally seen gracing red carpet events in spaghetti-strap dresses, she goes casual on us in a sleeveless white top, skinny jeans for that well-toned body and a pair of tall brown boots to finish off the look. Proof positive that dressing down doesn't have to mean letting oneself go. Certainly one of the classiest stars in young Hollywood today, the 25-year-old always takes things in stride. Alba hit gold with sizzling roles in Sin City and Fantastic Four, and the future looks bright. No explanation needed for why la Jessica placed at number two on Maxim's list of the one hundred hottest in 2006.

Jessica Alba is to earn $5 million as the new face of Revlon cosmetics

The 'Sin City' star's first role for Revlon will be starring in the global advertising campaign for their 3D extreme mascara.

The 'Sin City' star's first role for Revlon will be starring in the global advertising campaign for their 3D extreme mascara.
While shooting the commercial in Los Angeles, rumors that Alba had split from boyfriend Cash Warren were put to rest after he visited her on the set.
A source said: "They are very much together and in love."
Alba's 'Fantastic Four' co-star, Beau Garret, has also been signed up by Revlon but is yet to be assigned to a campaign.
Alba recently revealed she visited numerous strip clubs to prepare for her role in 'Sin City'.
She said: "I was worried about lots of things, including my top falling down, my chaps splitting or even hitting myself in the face with the rope I had to use.
"I saw the pictures in the comic book and thought, 'How could I get such great breasts?'
"But then I went to lots of strip clubs and watched and learned."
