The Oscars in 2008 were quite a glittering affair, with simple dresses no where to be seen on the red carpet... here's our round up of trends and fabulous dresses on the red carpet...


Here are the ladies in red (click image to enlarge). As ShinyStyle pointed out, red was the trend for 2008, with Dame Helen Mirren wearing a beautiful Georges Chakra gown offset by the lace sleeves, Miley Cyrus looked way beyond her teenage years in a body hugging Valentino dress. It was such a gorgeous dress, so one can't blame the girl for wanting to wear it! Anne Hathaway wore the red carpet critics favourite, a Marchesa gown with beautiful floral embellishment around the shoulder and bust, with folds of fabrics draped towards the bottom for a stunning grecian look. Heidi Klum wore a very bold red Dior Haute Couture dress, which I'm glad she wore in red. If it were in a darker colour she could look like the wicked witch in Snow White. (Sorry Heidi, I love you in Project Runway, but that's just what comes to mind).Finally Katherine Heigl sported Marilyn Monroe curly blonde locks, wearing a chic one shouldered Escada dress.

Heidi Klum takes over from Elizabeth Hurley by rocking Jordache ads

Barely a month has gone by and there are more semi nude photos of Heidi Klum making the rounds. This time however it's not Claudia Schiffer who needs to feel inadequate along with the rest of us mere mortals but Elizabeth Hurley instead. Looking fantastic in nothing else but a pair of Jordache jeans and brandishing a riding crop to represent the brand's horse head logo, you do get the feeling that Liz (who was replaced by Klum as the face of Jordache) wouldn't have brought quite the same level of sensuality and high fashion to the camera.

Maybe she had the same problem with Helena Christensen replacing her over at Monsoon. Not to worry Liz, not many women can compete with someone who looks like Klum after three kids. After all, they don't call them supermodels for nothing!

Victoria's Secret Fashion Expansion

Victoria's Secret are planning their fashion range with new accessory and sportswear lines.

The American lingerie brand want to expand their label in a bid to attract a wider range of customers following a drop in profits over the last year.

The company are hoping to buy bigger stores with more space in order to devote more sections to categories such as sports bras, yoga wear and swimsuits.

“It will be combining technology and fashion and sexy into one," said Sharen Turney, the chain's chief executive, of the upcoming Victoria's Secret Sport line
Turney also told Reuters that swimwear will drive new shoppers into stores and provide a counterbalance to holiday sleepwear sales.

The label are also planning a special televised fashion show later this year.

The show will be broadcast on US TV channel CBS straight after the ringing of the New York stock exchange opening bell on December 4th.

Top models appearing in The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will include Heidi Klum, Adriana Lima, Karolina Kurkova and Selita Ebanks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, get ready. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has been announced, and it’s gonna be big.

December 4th is the big day, with network CBS signing on to broadcast the racy lingerie show. Rest assured, it won’t hit airwaves until 10 pm, so there will be plenty of time to get the kids in bed before it starts.

And Heidi Klum, along with Adriana Lima, Karolina Kurkova and Selita Ebanks have all signed on to take part in the show.

It’s sure to be a night of beautiful people wearing (not very much) beautiful lingerie, and it’ll all be on network TV. What is this world coming to?

Heidi Klum calls her breasts 'Hans' and 'Franz'

Heidi Klum isn’t one of those women who refers to her breasts as 'her girls'. Instead she has given her twin assets male names.

The German supermodel revealed that she has named her breasts 'Hans' and 'Franz', as a tribute to her homeland.

“It’s been an ongoing joke for 12 years. When I began modeling I used to say ‘These are German breasts — one is called Hans and one is called Franz,’” The Sun quoted her, as saying.

The mum-of-three, who has been nicknamed ‘The Body’ for her stunning figure, recently became the face of jeans giant Jordache, after the company decided to drop British beauty Elizabeth Hurley for her.

Talking about the size-zero debate which has been raging in the fashion industry for the past few months, the supermodel and Victoria’s Secret ‘Angel’ also added that she wouldn’t starve herself to fit into clothes.

“I’ve never been prepared to do crazy stuff to be like a thin rail and fit into clothes,” Klum said.

Heidi Klum is the new face of Jordache

She will also remain Victoria’s Secret Angel for another season of ‘Project Runway’.

The 33-year-old recently posed for Jordache’s new jeans line. The campaign was shot by Rush Hour director Brett Ratner at Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood in a large suite.

An eyewitness told Star exclusively, Heidi was topless for the shoot but covered her private parts.

“She was topless the entire shoot and she looked amazing, you can't believe this woman has had two children. Her humps were in perfect shape. And she was not shy — everyone got a peek at them.”

Jordache manufactures apparel including shirts, jeans, and outerwear. The brand is known for its designer jeans that were popular in the late 1970s.
