Fergie: Fembot or Victoria Beckham lookalike?

Readers: you decide.

Emerging slightly ominously from the bushes - I won't speculate on what she was doing behind them - Fergie looked a little, erm, robot-like when she was snapped like this yesterday. Very nice and stylish and groomed, of course, in her polo neck dress and big shades. But robot-like nonetheless.

Are Fembots taking over LA? Or is this evidence of Victoria Beckham's American domination? Hmm. Let's hope it's the former, eh?

Fergie takes on her jeans nemesis: skinny fit, high waisted and bright purple!

Ah, Fergie, you gotta love her! Well no, you don't, but personally I'm definitely pro the Fergster simply for having the guts to give this outfit a go! High waisted skinny fit bright purple jeans aren't high on my list of future purchases I'm afraid, although if I was as tiny as her I too might be tempted to give it a try. I love the understated black top but it's the belt that really causes me difficulty; I'm just not sure whether wearing it low-slung on a pair of high waisted jeans really works. What do you think?

'Glamorous' Fergie unstained by new fashion deal

Give it up for our girl, Fergie! The Black Eyed Peas singer and budding solo star isn't about to let an infamous stain on her pants -- um, make that reputation -- prevent her from pocketing a cool $4 million.

That's what she's reportedly getting for her new promotional deal with Candie's, whose products are sold exclusively at Kohl's stores. Apparently, Fergie just isn't earning enough bling from licensing her image and excerpts from her song, "Big Girls Don't Cry," for Candie's current advertising campaign.

Not content to be paid merely to be the celebrity spokeswoman for Candie's line of teen-oriented fashions, shoes and fragrances, Ms. Fergalicious has now struck a lucrative deal to promote those same products -- in the lyrics to her songs. That distinguishes her from such previous Candie's celebrity shills as Hilary Duff, Destiny's Child, the Dixie Chicks and Jenny McCarthy, who apparently didn't realize they could make even more money by writing "original" songs that promote Candie's directly in their lyrics.

"With record sales in decline, you must find novel ways to make money out of the music. The trick is to make the brand part of the song so that it slips down easily rather than chokes the fan," said an apparently straightfaced official for Fergie's record label, Interscope. "Candie's will reach teens, but it has no say over exactly what Fergie will sing, or when. Fans might think she is just singing about candy. But it's got to work in the song. Fergie does not sing jingles."

Jingles, no. But songs that pimp for Candie's? Hey, if the price is right, why not? Then again, if Candie's really wants to clean up, they'd market a special line of "official pre-stained Fergie pants," modeled after the freshly stained pants she wore during Black Eyed Peas' belated San Diego performance at Street Scene 2005 (see accompanying photo).

Given Fergie's lyrical brilliance, we can't wait to hear her ingenious new Candie's-fueled lyrics. That's why we made up some of our own: My lovely Candie's lumps (lumps) / My lovely Candie's lumps (lumps) / In the back and in the front (lumps)

Or how about: Aint nobody rip it like me / F to the E-R-G-I-E / I rock it hardcore for my fly Candie's You go, clothes-whore girl, all the way to the bank.

J.Lo, Fergie, Usher among performers at fourth Fashion Rocks show at Radio City Music Hall

Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Fall Out Boy and Usher will perform at the fourth annual Fashion Rocks concert celebrating the relationship between music and fashion.

The show, hosted by “Entourage” star Jeremy Piven, will be held Sept. 6 at Radio City Music Hall. It will air the following night in a two-hour special on CBS.

Fashion Rocks will be among the events during New York Fashion Week.

Aerosmith, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Ludacris, Martina McBride and Santana are also scheduled to appear.

“The synergy between fashion and music is even more pronounced now than it was when we first created Fashion Rocks three years ago,” said Richard Beckman, president of Conde Nast Media Group, in a statement Wednesday. “Each year the line between the two becomes increasingly blurred as more musicians launch fashion lines and more designers align themselves with musicians.”

Fashion Rocks magazine will also return, with Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour again at the helm. The magazine will accompany the September issue of 17 Conde Nast titles.

Fashion Rocks is a production of Conde Nast Media Group, a unit of Conde Nast Publications.
CBS is a division of CBS Corp.

Fergie, the Duchess of York, has been approached to be a judge on a fashion reality show.

American TV bosses are in talks with the 47-year-old Sarah to judge aspiring models on reality show Project Runway, hosted by Heidi Klum.

“They think she'll bring style, grace and elegance to the program,” the source added.
The source also added that Sarah is very keen to do the show and is sounding very enthusiastic about it.

Celebrity Watch: Fergie and HRH Sarah Duchess of York at 2007 Cipriani Wall Street Concert Series

The two Fergies took to the red carpet with somewhat different outfits, one completely juvenile while the other was her usual sophisticated self.

On May 17th, 2007, Fergie performed at the 2007 Cipriani Wall Street Concert Series in New York City. The Series was held as a benefit for the US Fund for UNICEF, the charity organization devoted to helping children worldwide. A key member of the audience was Sarah Duchess of York, better known as the ex-wife of Prince Andrew. The two women hit it off as both were on the same track, being major celebrities who just happen to have the same name.

Fergie, of course, is the lead vocalist of the Black Eyed Peas, who also recently launched her debut album “The Dutchess” in 2006, a tribute to the Duchess of York. She was recently placed at number ten on Maxim’s Hot 100 Women of 2007. With a voice unlike any other and legs a mile long, the lady could give other singers a complex!

Sarah Ferguson, also known as the Duchess of York, and the inspiration for the album, found name and fame by marrying and divorcing the Queen’s second son. Escaping the onslaught of negative media after her split, she moved to New York and started a new life. Not only is she a fixture in society circles, but she supports children’s organizations like Children in Crisis, and is the global RHMC (Ronald McDonald House Charities) Ambassador for World Children’s Day.

Fergie Street
The two Fergies took to the red carpet with somewhat different outfits, one completely juvenile while the other was her usual sophisticated self. Seen in this recent photograph on May 17th, 2007, Fergie makes a statement in a short white dress with sheer puffy sleeves and gold buttons down the front, with matching gold heels. While we’re all for strolling down memory lane, and think she probably wanted to fit in with the children’s theme of the event, dressing up like a kid didn’t suit her, and it didn’t do a whole lot for us either! The puffed sleeves make it look like she is about to sing at a five-year-old’s birthday, and not like a major A-lister on the music scene. Demure this dress certainly is, classy it is not. When you’ve got gams, it makes sense to show them, not hide them under yards of sad-looking fabric.

Sarah Ferguson was an altogether different story. While before she was known for being overweight and a notoriously bad dresser during Princess Diana’s lifetime, Sarah cleaned up her act by going to Weight Watchers and getting a much-needed wardrobe overhaul. The result? A glamorous single mother-of-two. She dons a low-cut black dress with matching black heels and wrap, and you can see she’s kept the weight off for good! Mark Twain once said that “Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.” Clearly, Sarah understands this essential truth of our times, and isn’t afraid to use it! We rarely see her in anything besides designer duds, but at least they are wearable. Which is more than we can say for friend Fergie, who has a better body than Sarah but on this occasion chose not to flaunt it! All we can guess is that maybe she didn’t want to outshine Ms. Sarah, the muse of her first solo effort. If we had our druthers, the Duchess of York would take her new friend to Saks and burn the white dress so clearly not meant for her impeccable figure!
