Following on from Gemma's picks yesterday of her favourite bits and pieces from the recent Spring / Summer collections, being The Bag Lady that I am, today I bring you my favourite trends and creations within the world of accessories. From lush leather handbags to gorgeous gloves - and of course, more hats and hair accessories than you can shake a stick at - these are some of the standouts from New York, London, Milan and Paris.

A black and white affair at Chanel Fine Jewelry 'Night of Diamonds'

Whenever Chanel holds an event, they make sure most (if not all) the stars on the red carpet are wearing Chanel. So it came as no surprise that on Wednesday night at Chanel's 'Night of Diamonds' dinner at The Plaza Hotel for the Chanel Fine Jewelry collection, the black and white red carpet outfits were mostly Chanel. It's a good marketing ploy, and it makes my job a little easier – instead of running through the imaginary slide show of runway images in my head, I can just say 'yes, doesn’t Blake Lively look fabulous in Chanel?’ And doesn’t she just? The high collar does look slightly odd on one so young, but the ruffles and embellishment on the skirt is just amazing.

Erin Wasson wears a white Chanel dress first seen last year on Keira Knightley, but Wasson accessorises it with lots of bangles and a feathered hair piece which gives the outfit her own touch. Selma Blair looks very glamorous in her Chanel dress as Andrea pointed out over at ShinyStyle. While Ellen Pompeo reminds me of Coco Chanel herself in her 1920s inspired outfit – I’m not sure about the driving gloves though....

The embellished dresses really had a decent showing on the red carpet with Estee Lauder face, Liya Kabede, wearing a beautiful sequined cocktail dress and toting a quilted Chanel bag. Margherita Missoni wore a white dress with a large ruffled collar and eyelet detail at the neckline. The tiered look distracted us a little from the collar, but my favourite thing about her outfit were her shoes.

Julia Stiles opted for a simple black satin dress with a high neck, offsetting the dark look with red snake skin heels. Hana Soukupova wore a gorgeous halter neck, embellished at the neckline which flowed out into a semi sheer handkerchief hem dress.

Chanel pre-fall '08 show celebrity arrivals

As expected a bevy of A-listers flocked to the Chanel pre-fall '08 Maisons d'Art show last night in London. The front row consisted of a who's who in the fashion and celebrity world including Emma Watson, Natalie Imbruglia, Lily Allen, Emma Thompson, Natalia Vodianova, Claudia Schiffer, Rupert Everett, Charlotte Casiraghi and Thandie Newton. It was great to see so many celeb supporters of Karl Lagerfeld's Paris-Londres collection - the first of its kind in the UK.

Keira Knightley bares all for Chanel

As she would be the first to admit, Keira Knightley is not exactly famous for her hour-glass figure.

But her latest role - which sees her posing virtually naked to advertise a perfume - makes her look subtly different.

Despite the presence of a carefully-placed bowler hat, the 22-year-old actress appears to be just that tiny bit curvier.

It's certainly a different image from that presented in such hit films as Pride And Prejudice and the Pirates Of The Caribbean series.

Ever since she appeared in a sports bra as a 17-year-old in Bend It Like Beckham, the waiflike actress has done nothing to disguise her lack of cleavage.

She once spoke her dislike of her chest, saying: "I don't have any t***, so I can't show cleavage."
That's not always something the Hollywood publicity machine has been happy about.

While the British posters for her 2004 film King Arthur displayed her natural boyish look, the American ones were a different story.

Emma Watson: The New Face of Chanel

Aside from starring in the super successful Harry Potter films, actress Emma Watson has scored herself a contract to be the new face of French fashion house, Chanel.
Emma, who is only 17 years old, will reportedly get around $4 million for the lucrative contract, reports British newspaper the Daily Express.
While doing her PR rounds around the world for the latest installment of "Harry Potter," Watson showed up on the red carpet wearing a different Chanel dress each time. Must be nice right? I have a feeling we're going to be seeing A LOT more of this teen queen.
