British singer Lily Allen is the latest celebrity to launch her own fashion line. The singer launched her debut dress collection, Lily Loves, at London's flagship New Look store on Oxford Street Tuesday night with a promotional concert.
Allen, 22, performed songs from her album "Alright, Still" on a temporary stage set up at the store. She wore a flowery dress from her new collection at the launch. Among hundreds of other guests gathered at the launch was singer's actor and comedian father Keith Allen.
Lily Loves line of dresses, footwear and jewelry went on sale at 300 New Look branches from 9am Wednesday. The debut collection, which is much smaller as compared with some other celebrity designers, features six colorful prom gowns, scarves in solid colors, peep-toe court shoes in three colors, diamond-patterned trainers and oversized necklaces and earrings.
To the shoppers surprise they did not find throngs of people lined up in front of the store as was seen last week at Kate Moss' range for Topshop. The outspoken singer, keeping true to her style, said, "My dresses will suit anyone, whether they're tall or small, or fat or thin – and you don't have to queue to get them," reported Daily Express.
Lily Allen will perform at the Concert for Diana that will be held in July this year to mark the late Princess' 10th death anniversary. The 'Smile' singer will be among the host of celebs to perform at the concert that will be hosted by Sir Elton John.
